Is it worth to judge the capabilities of a person by his/her resume only?

I feel, that every person should get a chance to interact with the hiring person face to face. Capability of an individual can never be judged by the filters HR people use in the computer. I mean, human made the computers not the computers gave birth to humans. This is just a machine which can never be compared with the skills of an HR to hire humans.

Absolutely not. Resumes give a snapshot of the achievements and not the capabilities of an incumbent. From resume a preliminary short-listing of a probable recruit can be done. There are many attributes that are required to be assessed before hiring. The best way to hire people is through personal meeting by a panel of HR, Functional Head and an independent critic. This combination would allow you to hire the best possible talent.

I 100% agree with Shubham Rastogi,

Computers are just programmed to filter whatever has fed into their database. they don't have emotional intelligence to look for a human behavior and to judge a person through his/her attitude and way of interaction which only humans can do.

The thing that counts is what you are capable of doing here rather than racking the databases for high qualification, degrees and skills.

Every person copies and pastes on their CV. no one bothers to write their CVs themselves except a few.

I totally agree with Shubham Rastogi and Razzi Haider Zaidi.

Computers can only check what somebody had told them before. That means that computer programs for CV checks are limited to the expressions somebody had input into them. But language offers so much more possibilities for expressions.

I have written my CV by my-self. And this CV is extremely successful in Germany. But it seems that it does not work in the Gulf Region. Why? My skills are the same than in Germany. And my experiences and skills fit perfectly to positions I have already applied. But nevertheless the applications had sorted out by computer programs. I think that my CV contains a structure or expressions which are just unknown by the computer check.

In my way... some times unable to judge the Capabilities of a person by his resume.

The Resume is used to Provide the personal & Official Capabilities information of an individual.

sometimes as per Society & Working Field also Demands a person to do More than His Profile.

And also sometimes a person also unable to place/ express their capabilities in Resume..

Short answer is NO.It is not easy to confine abilities and skills in few pages, although a CV is the first impression and introduction of a person and will be useful to stand out. Interaction, Interview and situational questions should be the reliable method for hiring a person. And where ever possible and agreeable, probation period of couple of months will reflect the practical abilities of the person.

I think Resume just show your tendency while capability. The Monetary worth is identified from your education and work experience. In fact  ability is proved via your practical work or demonstration on work!!

Resume is just writing. Practical experince only misured by trying the user for some time. This is why there is a period called provisional period which can measure the emoployee for all his experinces.

Not Really, Our Capeability cannot be judged by CV. CV reflects past experiences, education and skills developed, but it does not necessarily reflect the potential, talent and work ethics.

Absolutely not!  The CV is just the gate way to the interview and means to disqualify candidates that do not meet your specified qualifications.  The only true way is through meeting the candidate in an interview.  During the interview you should be able to gauge his or her capabilities by asking targeted questions pertaining the skills set and capabilities need to be successful in that particular role.

No, we cannot judge a person by his/her resume/cv but yes resume/cv is only a first step toward any organisation/company/establishment.

Recruiter is shortlist any candidate on base of resume/cv after that candidate have to clear the several interview rounds according to the company and after the selection, candidate have to show his/her capability for that particular position in his/her probation period.
