turning point is the moment of a significant change in opinion, direction, motion.
Focal point means when different people have a converging views on an issue, although the background and mentality level of the person varies.
Turning point means that when there is difference of opinions about an issue or problem and how to resolve, although every person view is respected.
focal point can be explained in simple point as the salient parameter which the negotiating parties have come to with a common consensus.
Turning point can well be explained as the point when new parameters are introduced for consideration in the course of negotiation.

The main difference between focal and turning point of negotiation is
1. A concept mutually agreed by both parties before negotiation starts - ( Basic Fundamental points) are generally known as focal points
2. After negotiation or during negotiation both parties agreed to accept a concept - Turning point
