Using competition among teams to get better results is an illusion , cooperation is the key not competition

Cooperation brings synergy where the total is more than the sum of parts and fosters a win-win atmosphere, while competition brings a fight or flight reflex and a win-lose philosophy.

Teamwork is the right key, not dividing teams into isolated islands each has its own stream which weakens the overall stream because of different interests and different directions.

Shared goals, common values and hands-on tasks are much more effective in getting results than competition. Let the team compete with teams of competitors of other companies.

Don't bring the devil into your own home.

Sometimes, yes.  Friendly competition can be healthy and useful in the workplace, and bring better results that would otherwise be the case.

It's usually only appropriate when the teams are strong and things are going reasonably well.   You wouldn't do this in bad times.

Greetings! No. United we stand, divided we fall. It will create friction in the team.I will compete with other teams but not within my teams. Though it will bring out the best in me but it can harm the camaraderie in the team,I wouldn't agree.Thank you.

Yes I will do so, but they should be unified before toward the goal and I have to lead them by objectives and through motivation and positive competition

Even though competition is good and brings the best from teams it also brings friction within the team or between teams.

For myself; I still prefer collaborative work.

I don't think competition is the answer when they can always work with each other toward the same goal, they can surely cooperate and gather their ideas to deliver the best result and achieve the target.

Hello.

The described case implies that two groups will be doing the same job. Thus I would prefer to use some team building techniques to make a single effective team. But actually the answer depends on the type of corporate culture in the company. For example, in US companies there is often a great spirit of internal competition - so it may be an effective solution there.

For various ideas it would be better and achieve the goals easily through various groups with various works.

Thanks to invite.

Yes, if the job demands are not being achieved than its better to divide into sub teams, to create competition environment. Division must be purely for the purpose of achievement of goals in positive sense.
