Sometimes the experience of the employee exceeds the educational level in a different field, does this qualify an employee to be eligible to work in the most experienced field?
Having the desired qualification for a position doesn't automatically translate to the practicalities of performing a role as expected. The material often studied to obtain an MSc qualification for example, is theory based, class room learning and doesn't account for how humans behave or interact when in the work place. For me experience is more important, however screening for applicants with a qualification is not a bad thing because the motivation and determination behind obtaining that often tells you a lot about the individual and is a good starting point.
Off course it depends on the position for which to be selected.... If the employer is more concerned about production, then he/she might look for a practicle person
It depend on the job position application
It depends on job specifications. So hiring heir or important positions the academic qualification is important than practical experience when choosing employee.
But I believe the best is a combination of both.
both are important, they act in concert
