In my opinion a sales man with a product catalog will bring good sales to the company. Catalog makes it easy to explain the customer about the product and the company profile
I think both are important. both have their own requirement on their place. both are required to increase the sale of product.prospectus is a medium of advertisement to give information about company and products. it can be stored by customer for future requirement ( when they need any information about the product they can read ).salesman is the soul of a company. They present the company face. they can read customer faces and what customer thinks they can understand. salesman have ability to make personal relation with customers.
i dont think so. catalogues are just to inform potential clients the products features and uses. it does nt always have to tally with sales. catalogues main function is to provide info about the product. well, this is also the main function of a salesman too; but is different completely. a salesman can identify and find the need of the the clients, whereas a catalogue can only sell its benefits. a catalogue cannot handle objection or close the deal, where as a salesman can close the deal by handling objections.
so i beleive that its the salesman who can profit the company by bringing in sales whereas a catalogue is just a tool for a salesman to interact with their clients.

Now a days people are looking for a better product which includes their matching with the product and the product to be bio friendly, Its a job of sales men to sale the product but also customers has some deflections in their mind to look the description of the product for satisfaction. In my point of view Product Description plays an important role for the sales.
in my opinion a catalog is more effective then sales man now days. company should have make catalog much more beautiful and easier to understand customer.
It will help to further give our customers knowledge about products or services we have without them going to the store personally. But an attentive salesman will do the job even better.
