Smartphones will die out within five years according to the new studies. What do you think?

Five years is a quite a long time in terms of technology development. Therefore, in 2022 smartphones will be no longer what they are today. Quite likely they will be some kind of wearable stuff, with a lot of the processing power and the information storage moved to the cloud, and the ability to use less power and recharge wirelessly from a variety of different sources. How wearable or how integrated with the human body, I can't tell, but we are free to dream about it.

Does this mean smartphones will be dead? I don't think so: smartphones will simply evolve, but the main concept, which is still the original one, stands.

Think: aren't PC still what they were 25 years ago? The answer is yes, the difference is that today's computer are pure Science Fiction if compared to a IBM 386SX from 1993 :-)

I do Not agree at all only if there a new communication way invented .

I do believe in research and studies, but someone people take it far and act smart and this is one of them, mobile phenomena just started and the world will have it for many years to come, there is nothing that can be as personal and interactive a mobile device, the watch tried and failed, tablets are ok but we use them for certain things, mobiles are here for a very long time i assure you.

you can't say smart phones will die .i hope a new way of communication will be invented .i can't say any thing what kind of things it will be as our ancestors are in wonder to see current smart phones.

It is too early to conclude that smart phones will die. I do not see it happening within the next years. The reason being is that currently there is no technology that can fully replace that functionality, Sure there are lot of experiments that took place like Google glass and even to some extent to change the way smart phones are like project Ara. Wearables are all nice and good but they cannot replace smart phones at this point. They are limited in their functionality and features as opposed to a smart phone. No one wants to wear a wearable watch with a5 inch screen. Holographic technology whilst has made a break through in the last5 years, it is still ways before it can be implemented in wearables devices and offer a complete funcionality of the smart phone. Also if you take the study of smart phone growth you will find that the growth is increasing rapidly in developing couintries and even in some third world countries, smart phones are making an entrance to connect people. With the advancement of technology any thing is possible but to consider it to die out would mean that thee mainstream people stop using smart phones for something completely different and at the moment there is no such replacement although many differnent experiments are going on. Also if such a technology was to die out, giants like Samsung, Apple and the rest would be shifting away from manufactoring smart phones to something else as they are considered industy leaders but as of now, though they do have many projects which are termed as concepts but they in some way modify the existing smart phone to do more.

I like the idea of smart glass replacing the smartphones.
