What tests are performed for concrete?

From a practical  perspective good concrete is defined by:

• quality of aggregates (hardness and type)
• grading of aggregates and their combination with sand etc (affects water retention)
• quality and type of cement eg sulfide resistant 

onsite

• slump an indicator of workability (too dry wont move around bars, too wet wont stand up etc)
• temporature (in high temperatures may need to add ice to slow the hydration process)

Post placement

• shrinkage test and
• strength tests at 7 and 28 days

Hardness testing

• schmidt hammer

• Slump test before leaving the batching plant and on arrival on site.
• Compressive strength test.
• Water Permeability test.
• Rapid Chloride Ion Penetration Test. 
• Water Absorption Test. 
• Initial Surface Absorption Test.

• On aggregates - Many quality control tests are required to check the suitability of material
• On Fresh concrete - Slump. temprature
• Hardened concrete - Concrete compressive strength. If required then permeabiltiy, durabilty tests  - 

Normal tests on concrete before casting are

Temperature measurement

Concrete cone test for concrete strength

After the hardening, it follows

Test the pressure resistance of the concrete, whether cube or cylinder after 7 days and 28 days

These are the normal tests of concrete

Solid or soft concrete ?? These rigid concrete tests:

Check compressive strength

Check bending resistance

Concrete density inspection

Checking the pulp is one of the tests

Check the download site

The examination of the waves and the hammer is also made of the metabolic tests
