What is the colour of phase wire and neutral wire in 3 pin plug switch. And connecting earth is must or not?

RED, YELLOW, BLUE (for 3 phase) . . BLACK for neutral, . . GREEN for earth

• Brown for phase, blue for nuetra and green for earthing. Earthing must connect for protection.

Austaralian/NZ standards are Red, white and Blue for the phases, Black for Neutral conductor and green/yellow for the Earth wire.

European color coding for phases are Light Blue, Brown and Grey for the phases and Black for the Neutral conductor. Green/ yellow for the Earth wire.

The Earth wire for a Three pin (single phase) must always be connected for a MEN system for safety purposes. This garantees that the circuit protection of that circuit will operate in the event of an active to earth fault and the touch potetial hazard is removed when that fault occurs.
