Which is the preffered software testing tool?

selinum, test link, jemeter,bugzila etc

For automated testing i prefre Selenium and Protractor (angularJS application)

also for regresstion and soke testing TestNG and SevTest can come in handy

FOr amnaul testing following tools are handy

JIRA , fiddler, putty etc

I used to test the software by testing :

1- check the user interface.

2-analysing the database quality by any sql writer.

3- analysing the quality of reports using crystal reports.

• As in Test Design & Reporting , of coz Jira also Test Analysis with its Strategies etc..
• As for Practical & Technical , MS Test Manager & HP QC on the other Side JMeter.
• As in Managment & Project regarding Testing Phase TFS. This is the Top , more details in my C.V. ;)

If you are talking about a testing tool for test management, RTM and defect tracking process, I would recommend 'Microsoft Test Manager'. It is the best tool i have used in my experience.

However, if you are specific about a tool for automation testing I recommend Selenium.

Any Testing tools would be of great help to every Tester. Microsoft Test Manager(MTM) is the most friendly testing tool so far.

Question is "Software Testing Tool, not collaboration tools. If the question was collaboration tools then the answer will be TFS, JIRA, Mingle, Mantis etc.  But here the question is Software Testing tools:

To be honest, depends on the client and the project. Every tester has their own opinion regarding the Testing tools. I'm conformatble writing nd maintaining automation scripts in Ruby with capybara, cucumber and SitePrism. Definitely I will recommend that to my client or the stakeholder. I have worked on Java with cucumber, Java with Selenium. But I have much experience working in Ruby, cucumber with capybara and siteprism. I will deinitely recommend that one.
