every small component of the machine is important , when axis sensor break down the machine will stop working so in this situation it's important.
but if you mean about the structure of the machine, for me it's the design
basic part of CNC is the cnc controller ,where you input the file and and which is responsable to issue all the commands to machine ...other every thing is nill without that
