Don't ask for money first but instead politely & professionally bring the extra expense or cost to the attention & disclosure of the customer without causing diverse effects. This is so because; it is very dangerous for you to provide a service at an extra cost to a customer with informing or disclosing it to them, it could be a subject legal redress or customer disatisfaction. On the other hand, if the customer consumes the extra service without paying for it, your company might fine you or discharge you or relieve you of your duties for complacency.
It is not definitely to ask payment first from your constanly VİP customer.it can damage the relations with the customer.but before provide the service you can note the time of payment kindly.if you did some deals with this client it mean you know the person and you how to do talk with this client not to damage your business relations.and for the good salesperson it one of normal salesprocess.
but if it is your first deal whith this customer I think it is normal to ask payment before.because it is more valuable for people when they pay for it especially when they buy it first time.but of cource you can do different by individual.the salesperson can define the client during the negotiations. And he/she need to know which movement how can affect to the salesprocess and to the customer.
Since customer is everything in service industry and since the customer is VIP and you always look to retain your customers and in the larger interest of the company, I would provide service with a polite reminder for payment.
For me, I would be happy to provide the extra service first. Since I would assume the VIP is willing and able to pay for that charge. It's about setting priorities and the customer should be on top.
To me every customer is a VIP. From the start, if you give the very best service by having divine smile, listening your customer needs, he/she is getting what expecting, checking out properly, and saying come back and see us soon. Sure, he/she will recommend others that that store treat me "customer" as a VIP customer.
We all know it can be hard to persist on payment terms and policies when dealing with "VIP" clients, however, I always request money upfront, regardless of whom I am dealing with. It helps them respect you more and will create a more fruitful working relationship in future.
you must let him feel with importance and he not like any customer ( VIP Client ) so provide the service first give him feeling with satisfy and desire to come again.
