Interesting question. It does require efforts, first time i am coming across a question on time for form a good team. Based on my personal experience "Leading teams" in the past years i have seen this varies. I have been able to build and form successful teams in a span of less than 3 months as well as taking as much time as 12 months. It depeneds on how your team is structured, how well you understand your team, your work and your stakeholders. There is no perfect timeline, but it depends on the "Leader". I am referrind to a leader and not a manager :)
Forming a good team needs research into team capabilities and build on those to form the good team. A good team is the one who can deliver your targets, each member is playing their part regardless of age, gender or years of work. By researching into the real capacity (skills, knowledge and readiness) of your team, you will able to decide how best you place them in the overall plan and be able to resource for filling gaps.
There is no definite time for this; it is an ongoing focus and process that requires a lot of coaching and support as a leader and then you will be reaping the fruit of your efforts.
Forming a good team starts from knowing your team members well and then guage how much efforts are required to build a team of experts. Research is an important element even in team building, minimum 4 months is a good time to start building a good team .
It depend on the how well the other person relate with people but generaly a period of one week is enough
Lana, it all depends on complexity of the job at hand.
First a careful compretency based review of the team members, then a discussion and then the timeline.............
In a certain of time. As leader, be a good example with them. Teamwork has to be build with great motivations.
it depends on the task mandated to the term but i think One month
The first rule of team building is an obvious one: to lead a team effectively, you must first establish your leadership with each team member. Remember that the most effective team leaders build their relationships of trust and loyalty, rather than fear or the power of their positions. so what time it get, you will always in time chain to build a qualified team.
It depends on what theory you're abiding by,
Lets take Tuckmans theory which primarily consists of 4 stages
Forming,Storming,Norming,Performing
The amount of time taken to form the team will depend on how much time the leader takes to incorporate these stages into the individuals whereas a big portion of the progressing process will depend on members collaboration.
It depends actually , if you have your friends as a team member then you need less time coz yoou know them very well but with a new team member you need 1 to 3 month time to build a aactive and leading team. its very hard to maintain every aspects of the team but you can create a good and leading team.
