Depends upon the kind of Job, market situation, experience and level of employment sought.

Usually 2yrs is not too long a period away for an employee having substantial experience in his/her field.

It all depends on your field, if your field is dynamic you may suffer a lot because of the gap but if it isn't, themployers may never even consider it but to be honest, it would have adverseffects on your own professional growth. The mind seems to hibernate when one is away from work and it will take you quite some time to get back to the old mindset. That is why a gap is something themployee and employer both would prefer avoiding.
