water cement ratio is variable depending on:

- Cement type

- Concrete strength

- Addmixtures

W/C stands watar cement ratio. It is selected on requirements of grades of concrete to be placed for various types of concrete structures which is mentioned in the Tables of different internal standards as ASTM, ACI BS-EN & Indian Standards.

Water Cement ratio is the weight of water to the weight of cement in concrete. Generally the range is 0.4 to 0.6

The more water will reduce the strength of concrete.

23% of water is sufficient for cement to start reaction. More water in concrete leads aggrigates to settle down.

The watercement ratio is the ratio of the weight of water to the weight of cementused in a concrete mix. A lower ratio leads to higher strength and durability, but may make the mix difficult to work with and form. Workability can be resolved with the use of plasticizers or super-plasticizers.

Different concreate have their different water-cement ratio and they are as follows-

M10 (1:3:6) - 34 to 36 lit(Water),Cement - 226kgsM15 (1:2:4) - 29 to 32 lit(Water),Cement - 313kgsM20 (1:1½:3)- 26 to 30 lit(Water),Cement - 404kgsM25 (1:1:2) - 21 to 27 lit(Water),Cement - 563kgs

you have to calculate it according to the required strength.
