From my point of view, it's a very important as these kinds of courses and programs will empower the concept of customer oriented. Customers are internal and external; so new joiners will coupe and communicate easily with all their colleagues, peers and managers. Each one of them is considered a customer and they should meet his expectations. And For sure in addition to external customers.

Induction is a very important process in the company. Its the first impression from both the ends. Joiner and the employer. Every employee caters customers either internal or external or both. Hence having customer service skills in the course will always help. In addition to skills it will create awareness amongst the emplooyees about them serving each other as well.

Every course and skill is important to make a difference to spread the positive impression on customer.  It is very vital to train new joiners with great skills and giving training with designed courses!

New recruits to any job or industry need to have some set of skills which they can work to hone and develop.  Basic people skills are a necessity and these form the basis of customer services.

How well do you speak to people around you, How well you deal with stress and concerns, Do you keep your cool when things become hot under the collar.These are some of the skills one needs to possess, but not everyone will have them. Its important to have courses and learning opportunities available to allow your people to develop and in doing so strengthen your team. 

 

Here are a few  courses i've seen used in the past which i thought were very useful.

Managing expectations and competitive behaviour.

How to sell!

Skills required for your job? - Are you comfortable with speaking on the phone? Do you know your way around using a computer? Are you capable to learn new technology? 

Your literacy  and numeracy skills

First aid

Positive mindset

Social media awareness and usage for advertising and sales.

 

Every company will have their own requirements but peoples skills are absolutely necessary for most roles. These develop with age and experience but can be enhanced by using the right courses to supplement your people
