This occurs in the Constant current Power source chareteristics as the volttage, which is the distance between the tip of the electrode and the work to be welded is controlled manually by the skill level of the welder. When the electrode tip got heated up and the distance is too short the moltendrop gets in contact with the work piece and cooled rapidly due to lower heat input and get stuck as the welding circuit closes. This is common weld start problem associated with the welders skill level, to be able to start and move the welding arc.
