The main methods of food preservation include the following:

 

Treatment:

 

Treatment includes the addition of certain ingredients such as salt, sugar, sodium nitrate and sodium nitrite to food. This is one of the oldest methods of food preservation. Foods stored in a freeze-dried manner preserve the original taste and texture better than dried foods. In addition, they retain nutrients better. Food Additives:

Some substances are added to prevent corruption or to increase the nutritional value of food.
