1) By recruiting your replacement well in advance and training him/her to take over your role in such a manner that the Department performance does not suffer.
2) By being honest and giving valuable inputs in your Exit Interview
3) By always being reachable in first few months for any doubts/ queries your replacement/ Manager may have regarding some pending work/project assignment.
