Blender 3d best its light on computer , easy to use , powerful shortcuts system so not need all windows that is create comfortable space to work and its free
To work in 3d I like C4D, it has incredible tools to animate letters and figures, as well as create a very artistic result thanks to its materials and render possibilities. You can get a faster and easier result with pro quality.
I prefere Cinema 4D for motion Graphic 3D animation Because mograph of Cinema 4D is strong enough and many other options of Cinema 4d in making animation so friendly to use as compare to others.
Maya for Film and TV. (HighEnd software). Excellent Toolset to undertake serious projects. (BEST)!
3dsmax for Games, 3D Product Printing, Viz and Online. (Plenty of 3rd party Plug-ins).
Cinema 4D Aimed at newer learner and advance users with focus for use in the Broadcast and Online Animation industries. (Good toolset i.e MoGraphs and Particle dynamics). Has Exciting Photorealistic Renderers coming out. And SUPER Cool Integration with Adobe suite such as After Effects and now Illustrator for Package designs). (My favorite currently). RECOMMENDED!
Blender is free open 3D Software that has been ideal choice for many newbies that would like to get their feet wet into 3D world. Has good Renderer too.
Here are my personal views ofcourse...All applicationa have their Pros and Cons. Depends on how much your willing to commit.
I have used almost all of them except for Blender. Created Character Animation using 3ds max rigs. So, I know a thing or two.
But, now I focus more on Photo and Video assignments for clients.
