Like all leaders ( Managers) the people you are leading/ managing look up to you to set examples and take control of crucial business matters. If you show signs of weekness, poor performance and have little control over your own duties then yes you will find it hard to manage a team. On the other hand if you are on top of those things already mentioned, you will earn RESPECT! not only from your team but from your supperiors and clients and operations under your remit will run a lot smoother :-)

Managing a sales team is always been a challange for the immediate managers. But if they plan in advance and has a keen eye on the strengths and weaknesses of their sub-ordinates, the it will be an easy task for them to manage the team.
Team needs to be shown a proper direction by the team leader. Once the team is in a right direction as per the management Managing a team cannot be a challenge it is a smooth run according to a businees point of view. However on the other side If the team is not moving in a correct direction then the challenge for the team leader or manager arises.
