It's important because a CV is the first thing your employer sees about you

Yes! Definitely resume format matters a lot ! An overexaggerated resume with every little detail of every single achievement will be very boring or uninterestingly lengthy for the HR executive, on the other hand a single page or a two page resume, highlighting only the most important skills , will ultimately win you the job.

I, personally, don't find any difference between a resume and a CV. Maybe just the length. However, either are important and tricky. The HR or the Boss or anyone who would read the resume or CV don't know the real person behind it until they see him/her. Because of that, having a "good looking", organized, and a strong resume is really important. Every detail in the CV can change your position and trust in the one who is reading it. The style of the resume is also essential because when , for instance, the HR reads it, it can be a proof that you are organized, precised, and thoughtful person.

I see resume time is here again and what I find odd is that there is always another option for the supposed better CV......if you pay for it? Why? if we all pay for the "perfect" CV....surely the basic content of where we have been, what we have done and what qualifications are in the game, will matter ultimately? Personally, I find the option to pay for the supposed perfect CV a blatant attack on those who are so desperate for a job they will resort to anything that may help. I would like to think that recruiters will adopt a simple principle, right person, right place, right time.....and take candidates forward, yes, a decent CV matters, so list you ..... in every way, whether the CV has a gold frame and plays a tune when it is opened, should be of no consequence.
