What is the future of non-technical Project Managers in the digitalization world with IOT, Big Data, AI, Blockchain, Augmented Reality?

i believe there will always be a need for Project Management professionals as project management is a complete different stream

i know so many project manager which have no technical backgorund but are able to successfully deliver projects

Company will never achieve the utmost benefit and reaches its terget point and hence does not compete with other similar industries who has tecnically sound and skilled manager.

Project Managers working on technology or digital projects do not necessarily need to be technical and conversant in all of the latest emerging technical intracacies. It can move too fast for anyone for almost anyone to keep up but that should never make it hard for anyone to succeed. Ultimately, it's about process and collaboration.

As long as the PM has a clear, structured and SMART process grounded in a framework for the appropriate business or project type (Agile, Waterfall, etc.), they just need to be sure they surround themselves with the right technologists that DO understand the technologies and ensure that tasks/sprints/processes et all are managed correctly with clear end goals in sight.

 

Manage the company reputation and reduce the business risk. Also, to align the company business strategy with the environmental and community requirements  

It tells us what is happening in an environment without physically be there. Helps companies to save millions of money by productivity minimising waste and drastically reduce downtime. Project manager may not be placing the sensors and collecting but they are definitely seeing the result by acting on data
