During a training session, i prefer setting up a proper ambience & place(conference hall) away from the hustle bustle of office to avoid distraction, keeping phones in switch off mode is a good option too.
Any kind of debates can arise during training session..but such can be controlled , by giving a proper discussion time after each training session to discuss one's queries

Distratcion deviation and debates...by itself is the cause of moving the group away from the subject to unidentified blocks. It should to be in the control of trainer how can he / she can bind the group unanimously with creating a great intrest as well as full of interaction for the audience. As far as audiences are full of information on most of the subject through various medium...but when a trainer is taking a session first and foremost objective of the trainer is to set the expectation right. If the groups mind is already full of information they need to empty it outside and sit with a learnable mindset. If the mind is made to set at learnable mode..these deviation will be automatically out of sight. many a times inspite of all few creepers are always there that needs to be controlled by authority or delayed or denied if irrelevant to the subject matter is in my opinion..A professional trainer should have objective very clear and subject matter well in command then above distration cant creep in....or become a blockade for the traineing session.

It depends on the mental levels in front of you, whom you are delivering.
For distraction we can instruct to stop, as it disturbs the on going session.
For Deviation & Debates, we need to have a healthy interaction session and make it clear in the beginning.
as professional sitting in front we should give them the respect to share their experiences with the colleagues or participants but if some participants disagree or debates to prove his/her point of you, instead of taking too much time into resolving we can try to find a balance point with examples and brief the point of view we are explaining in the session.

Thanks for the answers.
Also it would be a good idea if breaks are given to the delegates that would also freshen them up a bit.close interaction as well as making delegates answer some of the questions would also help trainer to focus on the subject and keep trainees more attentive.
