Simply try to ignore or even don't talk unnecessary things. :).

Dear bashar majali,

Strong communication channels are vital to the well being of a TEAM. How a team communicates internally depends on its size and the location of its members. The most effective method of communication is informal direct conversation and for this, ideally, team members should have easy access to each other at all times- preferably sitting close together. If certain members of a team are situated off-campus, establish efficient communication links such as telephone, email, periodic meetings, video between all locations to ensure  that dialogue can still flow freely between the parties concerned.

It is the duty of a team leader or the boss to establish effective communication channels with each and every member of his team. If this is not happening, and one member feels he or she is being ignored or bypassed or not kept in the loop , it is time to find out what are the reasons for this behavior.

Since the member has  a fractured relationship with the boss, he or she can exercise  little influence over the boss to bring about a favourable change, it is essential and incumbent on the part of this subordinate member to analyze the situation and ascertain as to what is contributing to the prevailing impasse.  We all can change ourselves and not others. As such take measures to measure up to the expectations of the boss and ensure proper conduct of oneself to become more acceptable to the team. If the boss is uncommunicative with all members or most members then it is a problem for the leadership and the tea members must take the leadership into confidence to resolve the issue. However if the boss is only uncommunicative with just a member of the team, then it is time for this member to introspect and initiate measures to rise to the expectations.

With most bosses, you have a good idea of what they want, whether or not you agree with them, believe in their methods or feel their deadlines are even remotely reasonable. You at least know, and hopefully there’s respectful two-way communication.

But what if you have a new boss – either because you’ve taken a new job or because of a management change in your company, and he or she is just not communicating?

Some recommendations include :

setting expectations, and not assuming that you’ll have a certain kind of relationship or camaraderie that you’d like. (The relationship will be the one they want, and maybe they don’t value friendliness, are outrageously busy, or have personal problems.) one must also be alert to  “things to watch out for” (such as curt greetings, messages that aren’t returned, lack of eye contact), and advice on delicately approaching the boss if the big chill goes on and on – always couching the issue in terms of getting the work done, or moving the company forward, not the personalities.

Sounds easy, but anyone who’s been there knows it’s not. However, one must make a sincere effort to contain the situation and have a proper working communication channel open to oneself with the boss.

However if all your efforts have failed, then its time to look for a new job. In the end, it is up to you to decide if the benefits of the job outweigh the stress of dealing with this uncommunicative boss.

the fact is there are no ready made solutions to this likely problem. Each individual with his or her unique set of pluses and minuses interms of personality traits, capabilities, qualifications and experiences have to look at the problem in an unique way and try to resolve it.

good luck
