It depense on the work load requirement, some fields required male for more physical or heavy lifting work but of course the hand of a women is so perfect for any organizing, filling and others too.

WOMEN SHOULD HAVE LESS BURDER IN PHYSICAL WORK LIKE IN SUPPLY CHAIN. THIS AREA OF WORK HAS MANY HEAVY FUNCTIONS LIKE LOADING OF GOODS, PLENTY OF LEG WORK.

Loaded question. Such leadership roles require work commitment all the time. To say 60-70 hours a week flat out with no room for error would be an understatement. It has nothing to do with a male dominant patriachry because, anyone, such as myself, involved in SCM and shipping/transport know that is not the case. It is clear that there are highly driven women in the SCM field who, in my experience in the MENA and with agents in over 100 countries, certainly have a notable presense. Leadership roles, however, are market determined right to the core and women's representation reflects, perhaps, the type of job not being compatible with many women's life aspirations. I would argue, women who reach the age of 28-30 may leave very high stress jobs because it is ridiculous to live such a life in the first place. As humans, men and women want to have families. Once you hit a cerain income, your marginal propensity to spend remains the same. Additional income has zero impact on your quality of life. Some men, who are hyper competitive who are obessesed with hitting the pinnacle of the dominance heighracy in their field (in this case) SCM roles will do it and will forego family, children, relatiionships and even at the expense of their own health. One could argue that it is a much like a pathalogical neurotic obsession. Such men are very difficult to live and work with and are not agreeable, which is in contrast to women who, I would sugget, are more agreeable than men.I think an interesting question is, why are there a handful of men that want such high pressure jobs to the point where they may need to forego everything else in life.

Thanks

In my opinion this position depend on men based on

  • Negotiation obstacles .
  • Culture of region especially in MENA.
  • Type of people which this position deals to treat with.
