Microsoft is making the sellers/agents as their partners and is increasing the opportunities to both buyers and Microsoft (win-win) through the sellers/agents. Obviously agents too get benefited, since Microsoft is providing certain benefits based on the sales.
Eventually, more customized products are coming out through agents / software developers, which ultimately increases the usage of Microsoft products, since the core product remains same.
Best example is Microsoft Dynamics. Core Dynamics remain same and customization is done on the core product to produce the product suitable for end user's requirements.
