Do you think that International Style fits our needs, requirements, and environment?

this is a good question , I can not say YES as I also can not say NO .
The International Style fits more of our needs and requirements, but region has its own needs that the International Style can not satisfy it .
For an example : Privacy in The Arab area is the biggest challenge for the designers , on the other hand we will not see it in Europe .
so I think that The International Style does no fit with our needs .

My opinion, No,,,, our enviroment is differs than the western countries, some times when I take a look to The Kingdom Tower or Burj Khalifa, I like it but it's not match the whole enviroment and I feel that is odd, and because of much using curtain walls we should increase the HVAC & Electrical loads.
If we check Hassan Fathi's designs (Architecture for Poor people) it's match with our climate and we can build it ourselves, and it's suitable also for some western countries and south states of USA.
Moreover, we should have our culture and keep holding our heritage, as thousands of tourists come to our countries to take a look to our monumental tombs , mosques, palaces and temples.

some how yes! because designer are following Time saver standards and most of them are same in all over the world, only this shall be consider is environment, especially the Gulf Weather and the sand storms.
