Can anyone become an artist or be creative?

With training, you can become an artist, but creativity is a quality that cannot be taught.
You need to be born with a creative mind and spirit.
With training, this can be nurtured and brought to it's fullest potential.
There are many people who may have this ability who have not been encouraged to express it who may flourish when given the opportunity and training with the skills to express this creativity, but people who lack a creative spirit, while possibly skillful and technically very good, will never be artists in the true sense.

I think Pablo Picasso said that Every child is an artist.
The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.
So the idea becoming creative later on in life once your creative juices have evaporated might seem impossible but with the right training a person can improver his creative outlook.
The people who are exceptionally creative have had the time to hone their skill in addition to the fact that they don't look at the world the same way regular people do.
They are able to see what others don't and are able to creatively make the other non-creative people see their vision and feel good about the ability to see this creative vision.
That last paragraph might be a little confusing I must admit.
So put simply.
A person who is professionally creative has the ability to see something in a way that others can't and then has the ability to point it out which in turn makes people who are not creative see it in that creative manner and feel good about themselves (as if they accomplished something or they are in on the joke.) I believe that people have latent powers and abilities.
I could be the best sky diver in the world I just need the chance to try it and find out.
I could be the best naturally proficient scuba diver but without the right training I'll always wonder.
People can be surprising ...
I've learnt that even the most seemingly mundane people can come up with the most interesting and workable ideas in advertising.
I've worked with pharmacists and secretaries and people in finance that have said something as a joke which has blossomed in my mind and been the seed for a very creative campaign.
I cannot deny that the idea at inception was not mine.
But I saw the potential in it and made it grow.

Art, creativity, talent are all an inborn thing.
You either have it or don't.
If you have it, nurture it.
If you don't, get trained, and you might get lucky.
Worth a try.

Every work is an art and every one can be an artist in their own feild but every artist cannot be creative.Creativity, innovation or zeal to produce or make or be different is an exceptionally unique art and gift from God for a determined hardworker.

Artist are born not made no matter how hard you try but the art doesn't care for you it' useless only one thing will drive to become an artist; Inspiration and leads to all creativeness, and patience. obrcourse there's a lot of way to become a creative specially in field of grajphic design or artist, just like a music they called it genre.. a person become an artist in one field or morethan that if he found what he's meant to be.. Just never give up always find a way because that's the artist's do..

become an artist is Skill, people can learn it from practicing and Education, but creativity is something natural or God Gifted, Allah Almighty Has given all of us some thing unique but very few of us are able to find that specialty that God Has Given.
one can nourish, polish, or improve his/her Creativity through art it is a plus point that one is Creative and artist so he can give meaning to his creativity and bring it in front of world

I will tell you about my example. I am a marketing manager. I have worked in sales ,retail before. In general i have been working in marketing and sales. However, my last employment included different duties that were put up to me. One of them was designing promotional, advertising material for the company, which included banner, newsletter, billboard, business cards and other designs. I have had used COREL DRAW before that employment but i never mastered it. In such circumstances , they didn't want to spend money on external designer, so they transferred this tasks to me. I mastered COREL meanwhile and delivered satisfactory results. WHAT IS THE POINT? they recognized that i have this artistic touch/feeling for nice things so they supported me even though i was not a certified designer. 

 

So, my opinion is that the talent/taste/feeling/ can not be learned. Other relevant skills can. It is the same with software developers. You can learn all the programming languages in the world in couple of months, but programming way of thinking not.

Anyone can learn how a software works but to make it work and produce something creative one needs a really creative brain and outlook, so as for your question I believe creative jobs could be fun and daunting at the same time, for example if you are stuck in a creative job and all out of ideas...its a tough road ahead my friend...but if you are really creative and you love what you do, you grow enormous, you ll not be tired it'd be like playing a PS3 game without getting disturbed :)
