Damage measurement in browsing web with Chrome in incognito mode (ON or OFF) both are the same thing.
it does not prevent anything bad from happening from a virus or malware .
as simple as it is = incognito mode on = not keep your browser history, cookies etc...
i think damage will happen even in incognito or not
a malicious website does not care wether you are saving cookies (login information about your session for ex) or not on your device, which is basically what incognito mode does. if it can harm your computer in any way shape or form without incognito, then it can do it within. hence the term "malicious". it simply doesn't follow the rules, so anything is possible. if you want to protect yourself online however, there's a lot you can do. depending on the level of security you need. you can for example use a VPN service to hide your original IP, you can add another layer of security by using a browser in sandbox mode, you can also use tor browser if you want added protection from tracking and of course you can always use linux operating system behind a firewall. if all of this is too complicated, just don't bother entering that malicious site and save yourself the trouble.
Well !! As far as I know, malicious websites are critical stuff that we need to be so careful dealing with, It doesn't matter what type of browsers or platforms we use to access such risky contents. However, using some types of precautions is an urgent necessity.
Modern web browsers and devices come with promises for privacy and security but for well protection takers, that doesn't work with them the same way as for normal people. An example of that is the incognito mode built-in within the widely known chrome browser. That feature good for one thing and only one thing (To delete the history and cookies at the session used incognito mode from only the corresponding device), but your browser history will not save you from the service provider or the admins who have more previliges to track your history.
On top of that, malicious websites anyway can still cause damage the same as if you aren't using this incognito mode if you are not taking precautions.
