Yes breakup in communication is always not beneficial for both of the parties.  When people are communicating with each other in a friendly way both of the parties and organization will get the benefit.

there is many ways , try team building activites out of company premisis , also you can try communications channbels (official) like in touch meeting whcih gather employees from different departments discuss general comments and suggestions for the company , simply build family not colleages
