Thank you for your comment! Work rules change from institution to institution, from entreprize to entreprize. In some cases, a month notice prior to leaving the company is regarded sufficient. In others responsible and more important jobs, three months or more months notice is required because the company which departs with the experienced employee should have ample time to look and find an equally good substitution requiring the following measures announcing vacancies, screening of applications, sending interview calls, holding interviews, screening out the short listed candidates and deciding the matter with the board of governors approval before finalising the candidate designated for the advertised post. All these steps take time to come to singling out the deserved candidate for the post.
