reading then courses then turn it to skills then turn it to experinces then try and try and try.

I think following steps could be basic road-ma to start with:

1. Clearly define what you want to add into your skills
2. Research and select best tutorial(s) from internet (preferably step-by-step and with illustration)
3. Apply all learned skills to test and identify pitfalls
4. Troubleshoot any pitfalls on coming on the way (dont underestimate power of google to find solutions)
5. Once you complete this cycle for one skill, you are in, then all you need is to repeat4th pointwhen doing an actual job.
