It depends on the business sector you are working in. 

in General : 

1- maximum communication and collaboration with suppliers and clients.

2-  improve forecast, which is in supply chain science never accurate 100%, so you have to strive for the maximum also.

3- enable fast decision making.

bear in mind the customer needs and buying habits has chnaged, plus that this effect in my personal opinion will be repeated after the end of this situation.

Undertake CPFR - Collaborative Planning , Forecasting and  Replenishment should be advocated among the stakeholder for input raw material 

Secondly for Retial products , lot has to do with exploring quatitative data analysis from HISTORICAL SALE  ( Over the POS  - POINT OF SALES ) over last  6 month or other the season .

Only realistic informations , and confirmed order to the considered in the S & OP , avoiding too much of buffer inventory - unless there is a real time supply scarcity for the product
