Is jamming the pipeline and making the consumers suffocate for choice really a good idea for a brand?

No, as it leaves a negative impact on the brand. Rather must work hard for customer satisfaction.

A customer is only suffocated when there is a lack of knowledge. When you buy toothpaste you know exactly what type suits you but send someone to get you a toothpaste who has no idea about your requirements, that's where an infinite display of variants overwhelms a customer. The truth is, the customer will always be choked with choices. if you look at the beauty industry, there are few companies but way too many product verticals and if you look at FNCG products like rice there are very few product verticals but many companies making them and when you look for consumer electronics, Yes, there are a lot of options to choose from but when a customer is hit with the question "what are your requirements?" almost instantly the presented options become way less.

Now, Is Jamming the pipeline being good for the brand or not?  It all lies in the intentions of the brand. If the pipeline is choked because they are filling in a gap between what's offered in the market and customer requirements then it's a good thing for the brand. A lot of the options exist because brands are listening to their customers and giving them what they want. Remember it all starts with one generic product. First, there was just shampoo now there is a shampoo for dry scalp, for oily hair, anti-dandruff, baby shampoo etc.

Now, if your choking the production pipeline by creating options disguised behind a marketing strategy then sooner or later your customers will lose trust. Imagin product with "NEW IMPROVED FORMULA" on packaging and nothing is different.

No matter what a brand does, Jamming pipeline, recall a batch, change its packaging, etc. as long as they keep their customer in the center of it, it's going to be a good idea.

I can't imagine that any brand could benefit from this. I am absolutely convinced that most customers do not deserve such treatment from companies, and will simply leave the brand. I have seen a lot of different companies that can be cited as an example. If you're interested, you can take a look at this site. This is the page of an innovative company that has created a security system that is currently the best among wireless smart security systems.

No this is definitely a good move by a company or brand and this is not professional at all! If your customers find this out, then this is going to affect your brand reputation to a great extent. You might even lose your existing customers. There is no need to be greedy when it comes to a business. You should play by fair rules to attract more customers to your business.

there are several processes that break a business.perhaps the most important of these is the process that goes into your marketing and sales pipeline this is where your leads turn into customers, where mainely your revenue came from.

Yes, it is a good thing for the brand.

I think using the words "jamming" and "suffocate" in the question influenced negatively on the reader. The question can be rephrased in a different way like "Is having different choices of the same product of a brand, is it a good idea for the brand?", as a result you will have approving responses.

Consumers are smart enough to see the suitable brand prognosis for their needs, It's not healthy to keep them a way from your pipline.
