How do you address the issue of the brand of a product becomes more popular than the brand the company ?

do you mean the brand that the company sells is more successfull than the brand the company makes?

or do you mean that the brand became more successfull than the company itself.??

Just  to clarify , for eg a company may have several brands of ice -cream , and due to aggressive marketing the one brand becomes more popular  the other brands and the company band - which has a completely different identity to the brands and products it sells. Hope that clarifies things.
