In my humble opinion, It is a very dificult describe what mean a project methodology and more in this dinamic and turbulent market. In project management terms a project methodologies is a business strategy allowing companies to maximize the project's value to the organization. With the feature that it can evolve and "tweaked" to accommodate a company's changing focus or direction. A very complicated task with the assumption and constraints that the project has.

Methodology is how you tackle the project, it's a certain set of steps that you take in a defined and robust staging that has been proven to work. Every major company adopts a known methodology or creates its own methodology. You will find so many in the market, and many claim it works, but you can never know until you try.
