Are freelance SAP training institutes as good as the certified ones?

HI all, I have recently completed my Masters in Supply Chain Management and i'm thinking of taking SAP training for the MM module. I have come across various institutions that have freelance SAP consultants who provide the training and their own institutional certificates, apart from the SAP certification which one gets after the certification test. Such institutes offer the training at a lower rate compared to the certified institutes. Besides the fact that one has to take the certification test from SAP regardless of the institute, is it a good decision to take SAP training from such freelance institutes? Are they as competitive and good as the certified institutes? Any advice on this will be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Dear Anas Greetings! Certainly SAP Certification adds value compared to the local autonomous institutes who have no recognition in the competative global market.
From where and what we do matters.
Had it not been anybody today would be holding high positions.
Just as there is a difference in doing MBA from IIM's and Premier Institite's like Jamnalal Bajaj, Welingkar etc SAP certification undoubtedly goes a long way in razor sharpening our Resume and our standing in the corporate world.
Trus this helps my friend.
Good Luck and Best Wishes, Best Regards, Prashant Sadrani.

Hi Anas, Ofcourse, SAP Certification through authorized Institutions are100+ better, if we compare with freelance and no doubt on it.
Also take a detailed training to get acquaint with real time issues and solving.

Hi Anas, I was priveledged to be trained by an internationally recognised institution Anglo Platinum Development Centre which offers SAP certification. I advise you to be trianed by an internationally recognised institute as this gives you an advantage and makes you to be internationally recognised and hence better chances of employement.

Be objective focussed - go for the cheapest one for you that gets you the piece of paper.
Bear in mind that whatever route you take you will have to do an amount of homework.
But then the expensive 'certified' 'institutes' give nothing more, in my humble view, than the other options, they just make more money.

Dear Anas I support both above answers.
Your training with a recognized institute will serve your interest better.
The certification process will be easier.
An individual may not be available to support you in times of need but an institute will always support whenever you have any query or problem.
Regards Anisuddin

Experience gives you the most. Neither training course will get you a high profile job right away; you will need to start at the bottom and learn your way to the top.

Hi Anas seems so old post are you SAP expereinced & Certified so far or still looking...

Wel I have conduct training from SAP most value able and expensive partner SAP leader in Pakistan paid more then4000 EURO for20 days training only examination not included .My friend no result after academy and same after certification.

I really start learning SAP SD as I get invloved in an PRjoect from client end I would strongly suggest please prefer an certified and experience consultant to learn SAP rather then waste time and money with Big Gaint.

Hi Anas, My strong recommendation is to be trained in authorized training centers rather than the local institutes.
Though there is a considerable difference in the rate they offer, so is the quality.
If you just want to have a outline of MM module, you can get it from the local institutes.
But if you have decided your career in SAP then please opt for the SAP certification.
Regards, Ganapathy

Certification: SAP Certified MM Consultant means - You know most of the "basics" related to the MM module in SAP   What are Basics> a) Business Processes that are related to MM in the real-time business b) How to perform those processes using SAP MM and c) How to modify/Configure those processes using SAP MM (Back ground configurations/ settings /developments)   Now training: The Certified training centers trains you towards all the above basics.
The training, the training materials and the methodology will be according to SAP itself.
There will be indirect monitoring by SAP.
Greater emphasis will be given to understand the Core Business processes using SAP.
One important point is most of the people who join here are serious about the course.
Quality will be there.
Other and Freelance training centers: These training centers "try" to teach on all the above basics.
The training, the training materials and the methodology will be according to Individual trainer / Institute.
Greater emphasis will be given to understand the SAP and it will be depends on the trainee.
The persons joins here, most of the times, will be looking for the chances in SAP career than focusing on training.
  As other friends suggested...
there are lots of differences between the premier and non premier :)   I would like to say one last point - In both the cases > the training outcome will be depends on YOU.
  All the Best Rajesh B

Thanks a lot Mr Siddiqui and Mr Ganpathy.
Definitely local institutions have no value in the international and in the end the certification is the right choice to be made.
I will definitely be taking the certification test any time soon and looking for work in the GCC.
Wish me luck!
