1. Presently, Orientation or familiarization program is well practiced in all the renowned Companies. This is very much starting point of Training and Development’ designed for the new comers into an organization. The aim of such program is to familiarize the new comers with the policies and practices, does & don’ts of the Organization. It provides in-depth focus on the practiced norms of the company so that, the individual employee can adjust quickly with the working environment.
2. Besides, Training and Development continuously developing the training modules for the employees to keep them updated the changes of knowledge and technology so that they can cope up with the changed situation.
The Orientation Program could be one of the first things to do when establishing the T&D function, however I think that there are other things that are more important. If you want to develop the Orientation Program as one of the first things, it is OK, but make sure that you revise and upgrade it as soon as the other things are in place.
