Dear Shaimaa,

Great to hear from you!

i would always recommend a professional corporate appearance at employment fairs as it's the "first look" both for you as well as the respective employers. Conservative colors such as white, grey, blues work very well. Well tailored suits are preferable, but a smart blouse and well tailored trousers and skirts work very well. Ladies can play around with scarves or stoles to add a pop of color for interest and a bright look. Avoid busy styles and garish colors.Makeup should give a fresh clean and wide awake appearance but should never be too heavy, overdone and excessively colorful. Avoid very strong scents and perfumes. Hair should be clipped into a pony tail or tied back into a bun. Long hair left open, especially with bangs, can be distracting for both the job seeker as well as the employer. If using high heels , please ensure that you are comfortable wearing and walking in them. Please avoid wearing tight t-shirts, mini skirts and display of cleavage. Gentlemen should again aim to work within the sober and conservative color range of whites, greys, blues, blacks..etc. Ties should be worn but please avoid excessively colored ties or ties with cartoon themes as they do not reflect the sensibilities of a serious job seeker. Beards or moustaches, if worn, should be trimmed neatly. Otherwise, the face should be clean shaven. Shoes, for both genders should be polished and well maintained. If the job seeker is of a culture that wears specific dress styles for religious or cultural reasons, I would advise to gravitate towards aiming to look neat and tidy and to try and work within the sober color range, although sometimes this may not always be possible. In a work environment ,clothes should enhance the image of credibility and professionalism and never detract or distract from the work at hand. Your overall look should aim towards this.
