Email marketing or Social Media; which would consider as the best marketing tool for companies?

I think the answer depends on the target market and the product/service that is being offered. Email may work to an older audience and social media to younger audience but technology works in different ways so would you try both?

Dear Razwan Sharif I see that Social media is powerful tool than Email Marketing because of engagement for the customers but you must determine the tactic you used for the purpose you want , these two tools are different for using P.S : Both social media and email marketing most companies are missing out on the substantial benefits of integrating the two methods.
With integration between your social media and email marketing efforts you can obtain results and discover data that you could have only dreamt about in the past

I have came to this post via an Email Invitation/Marketing, and my contribution here is some type of Social Media/Interaction,,, this illustrates how complex and interlinked are the various marketing channels these days.
Always start with your customers, understand their personas, and identify the best medium to communicate with them.
Social Media is great for engagement and interactivity, it is a haven for building strong community of fans and advocates, who ultimately become your authentic sales force.
Email Marketing -if planned correctly- is a powerful tool for lead nurturing, by emailing relevant and timely offers/information, you smoothly walk your leads down the funnel.
Being a strong advocate for Relationship Marketing and Digital Communication, I continuously use both channels to communicate with our community.

It's a very dicey question to answer which is more superior to which one, but both hold some valid advantages.
Email marketing or social media marketing both are performed on situational bases or sometimes the combination of both works really great.
One difference i always found in both kind of marketing,in email marketing our target audience is our clients & we shoot mails to do organic sales or to retain clients.
But in social media marketing even though we know our target audience , we always try to create brand awareness or to create more visibility, which directly or indirectly generate leads for the organizations.
live example of email marketing and their advantages are as follows.
in my organization i shoot email to our clients for specific services which they love to take from us .
services like - Launch of new schemes which are more beneficial to our clients - services might be like additional credit facility on the basis of level understanding between both the parties.
Advantages 1) Clients get confidence in our services or product, because they get realization that we never leave hand of our clients no matter what happens.
2) Clients become loyal to the company because they get the first priority before any release or launch of product or services in open market.
3) Once the confidence & loyalty is generated in the product or services client itself recommend or give references, which is more powerful than repeat advertisement for the same target audience.
Now if i talk about social media marketing it is equally important as email marketing, few advantages are as follows.
1) It creates visibility of the product or services .
2) Helps in brand awareness & it also capture large target audience 3) Any good references from few great clients, give tremendous effect on brand in positive manner, which generates more leads or enquiry.
4) It goes viral.
5) Cheaper than ATL Activities.

In this virtual world almost every literate person is connected with each other through social media, In my opinion by E-Mail marketing we transform our communication to only 1 person & that too the open ratio for email marketing is just about 3-5 % and also the open to count ratio is again 3-5 % of the total open ration for example if we shoot e mail marketing communication to 1000 person only about 2 to 3 people actually interact with It, but in social media platform at least person will have a look at your communication, and also we can target them well in social media depending on their profile which is a bit tough in case of e mail marketing because once a e mail Id is created we hardly update our crediantials, but we do so in social media....
So i feel social media is better tool than E-Mail Marketing for start Up company

Until today, insights show that email is an important tactic that should be used alongside other marketing strategies.
This does not mean social media should be ignored.
Social media is mainly used to engage potential customers and fans, as well as answering questions about your product or service.
From an online perspective, email marketing is more accurate when it comes to measuring success and conversions.
I guess they are both used for different marketing tactics.

The short answer is Social Media + Email Marketing= Success. The email marketing can never be old.Every body who using Social Media has personal email. So if the audience is interested in your products or services then you can send your offers through email marketing.

It depend on what the company produce. If the company provides corporate services, then Email marketing is the best, but in case of retail, then Social media is the best. "Target Market"

I would keep it short & sweet.
Mostly for B2B scenarios go to Mail marketing.
For B2C scenarios, I would go to Social media for engagement, getting closer to your audience and many other activities.
Also a point to keep in mind that there's different social media platforms now, so for instance, Bayt or LinkedIn are some example for professional Social media websites that can be used for B2B marketing .

Social media -as a marketing toll for branding its a good option if you like to push your company and brand more into public 

email marketing -is effective tool and good converstion rate you will get if you go with good content and call to action elements ( email marketing works good with existing customers very well )
