I don't know. I never had to.

I certainly beleive that we should consult doctors when we have to or fr preventive measures. I don't think that gender counts here. What counts is getting cured by seeking the best I can afford.

Well the question is hypothetical, so experienced it or not "if it happened" I would rather to educate myself about the problem and it solutions first then I‘ll act upon them, if seeing a doctor seemed the best of all the solutions or one of the helping measures I should seek, then definitely I’ll book myself a doctor appointment.

I agree with Mr. Tohamy we should seek the best we can afford regardless the gender.

Regardless of whether the issue is medical, personal or simply fiscal (business-related), receiving consultation is a personal choice that highly relies on the client's comfort level in seeking professional advice, trust with the consultant, and capability to communicate. Personally, I am the kind of individual that would see if I could deal with my medical issue without professional intervention. Typically a consultant has already answered the questions you haven't even set on the table, but the real question is are you bold enough to ask these questions. In regards to severe personal problems (even if they are medical or psychogical) the best thing to do first is to receive the support of individuals you trust before seeking a professional's assistance. After having a foundation of trust amongst your spouse, children, and close friends you should consult a professional because you may lack the adequate knowledge to diagnose and treat your problem. Depending on my gender and quite possibly my religious and cultural background, I may be more comfortable seeing a female doctor ( for example if I was a religious female). All these answers will vary from individual to another and to generalize as a consultant only makes your job even more difficult :)

Personal problems can be shared with trusted family and friends or a professional person other than a doctor, if you are medically unwell then a doctor would be your best bet. A person's gender is of no importance in this matter.
