Yes, Consultancy provides opportunity to test your skills gained over a period of15+ years in different challenging environments and provides high level of satisfaction if you can help companies to achieve results in the areas of your expertise.

Infact, we all work as consultants in our work one or the other way - Act as consultants to suppliers, to operational teams and also to customers!

In our routine work, we may not have opportunities to test our skills and limited scope.

Beside the fact that working in consulting is stimulating and can be lucrative, I believe in passing on the knowledge as we’re living in an era of information and knowledge drive, If you are knowledgeable and passionate about what you do then why not share your expertise and consult those who are in need of it. I certainly would.

Obviously I would love to be a consultant after years of experience.

I believe sharing is caring and I love passing on the knowledge to others those who really deserve it.

After working25 years in big multicultural companies, I am starting a consulting company. It requires a lot of working experience in order to have something to give to others. It requires to have seen the ups and downs to understand the consequesces.

After gaining thorough experience within my field,I believe I would be the ideal person to consult potential hires or novice, entry-level employees because I would be able to provide them with insight and exclusive knowledge and details that I could have only attained on the job. Bear in mind, simply because someone has extensive background in a field does not qualify them to be a consultant alone, other factors like the ability to communicate clearly, support and guide people, and listen to their concerns and questions come into play. If I could do anything to help someone excel and climb the ladder of success I am willing to make that commitment.I believe that even if an individual lacks the people-centric attitude and cannot focus or follow along with communication process it would be quite difficult for them to achieve a high position in their field or even dedicate so many years to the field in the first place.Regardless of whether one is qualified to consult others or not, I strongly feel that knowledge that is not dispersed is lost, so I suggest educating others to avoid losing that knowledge.

It is better late ( to comment) than never.  If we have the expreince, knowledge and skills why not become "Consultant" . Yes, because will offer the chance to share your skills and knowledge and it also provides the opportunity to excercise putting in practice the skills and hence you are testing your knowledge so to me it is sword with edges - Share knoeledge and test your ability.

Yes i am one of the consultants to my peers

Consultants begin to develop specialized knowledge and manage a significant portion of project. The role involves working with organisations in all sectors to improve their performance. Some people assume that you have to have many years of work experience to qualify as a consultant. Depending on your focus and industry, this can be true. But if you have either very strong natural consulting skills or very specialized expertise, you can still act in a consulting role even if you can count the number of years you have been in the workforce on one hand. Regardless of which Industry you choose, you should have the basic following skills:

1.     The ability to see the “big picture” of an organization

2.     Excellent interpersonal skills

3.     Confidence to stand up for what you believe

4.     Synthesize a great amount of data in an effective presentation

5.     Knowledge of change management.

Of course, I believe that the next step of an experienced person is to start working on adding value to organizations & work on the overall mission & vision of the companies, along with sharing his experience in one industry with others. This way the person will add value to himself & the organization he/she is working with.
