In a MDB (main distribution board ) with 1600 A rating Is it better to use ACB or MCCB ?

It is better to use Air Ckt Breaker than MCCB in higher load.In case of1600 A load we must use ACB.

1)  ACB accuars more space than MCCB, so ACB Miantenance/troubleshooting  can easily done.

2) ACB Making &/OR breaking contacts can be checked easily( Contact Resistance)  during Testing/maintenance/Trouble-shooting.

3) ACB mechanism user-friendly as compared to MCCB.like it can be easily checked by racking-OUT in Isolated Condition.

4) In case of Heavy fault MCCB Contacts/Mechanism have more chances of damage as compared to ACB.

5) ACB have better ARC -Chute for quenching.

6) ACB are technologically upgrades as per as protection-relaying is concern.

7) Running current/ load display is available in ACB.
