What are the functions of a processor and ram in a computer system?

RAM stands for randum access memory.The work of the processor is to process data, the ALU the aritmatical logical unit is part of the processor. RAM is temporary data and the capacity of ram is generally more than the hard drive that contains parmanent data. Whwn there is a power cut and when the pc is shutdown without saving the data sometimes we loose data as the data was saved in RAM and not the hard drive.
