EIGRP-
1-CISCO PRORATITY
2-U CONNECT UP TO255 ROUTER
3- HIGH CONVERSION RATE
4-EQUAL ND UNEQUAL LOAD BALENCE
5-SUPPORT AUTO AUMMERIZATION
6-AD90
8-USE MULTICAT ADDRESS224.0.0.10
9-IT'S SUPPORT ADVANCE VECTOR ROUTIG PROTOCOLE
OSPF:
1-OPEN STANDERE
2-NO LIMIT FOR CONNECTING ROUTER
3-MIX NO OF VENDER DEVICES
4-HIGH CONVERSION BUT LESS IN COMPARE EIGRP
5-OSPF NOT SUPPORT UNEQUAL LOAD BALENCE
6 -NOT SUPPORTED AUTO ROOT SUMMERIZATION
7- AD110
8 -USE MULICAST ADDRESS224.0.0.5/6
9-IT'S SUPPORT LINK STATE ROUTING PROTOCOLE
Routers in EIGRP knows only what their neighbors forward to them, while OSPF every router know the all topology of the area. in my opinion thats the more important difference in between the two protocols.
Here you go with the differences. Hope this helps you
OSPF
ü Its link state protocol which sending hello
ü Packet to its neighbours
ü Give best path6 backup paths
ü It a supports the subneting (classless)
ü Administrative distance110
ü Using wildcard0.0.0.0
ü Autonomous1-65535
ü Using area
OSPF: Dijkstra's algorithm. Link State Protocol. Can be divided into areas (which are good like stub, not so stubby, completely stubby. Backbone). With OSPF you would need to limit each area to500 Routers (I think…please check that figure) due to the overhead of the SPF algorithm. I don’t think EIGRP suffers from a limitation to the amount of routers you can place…this one I am not100% about (Perhaps one of the CCIE’s could comment on this point).
EIGRP
ü Hybrid protocol
ü eigrp enhance interior gateway protocol
ü 90 administrative distances
ü Supporting subneting
ü Using area
ü Autonomous1-65535
EIGRP is and Advanced distance vector routing protocol which uses DUAL (Diffuse Update Algorithm). Distance vertor protocols are also called as routing by rumour protocols as they are not entirely aware of topological information.
