It is not the job title or the salary that is important but the job satisfaction

It happens, candidate working in small organization with big title used to switch in big setup with a bit junior titles. I believe in such one must review the job responsibilities and this should not be compromise.

B a businessman and measure your profits and losses, in the same place it will take you ages to get promoted, and salary increases are governed with certain percenatge ( it may take you100 years to achieve a tangible increase)

At the sme time you can promote and increase your salary by yourself, the question is how to market ( research your ASKE ( Abilities/ Attributes, Skills and knowledge and experience/education) then sell them through a well known recruiterment company to a well organised compnay.

bets of luck.

Definitely, if the company hiring you are in higher position than your current company position in the market.

I was Production Manager  for an O&M company and I accepted Sr Engineer position for Royal Commission who were client and one of the largest organisations in the country. Ofcourse, I got substantial raise in salary and facilities.

It is my personal belief that Job Titles doesn’t matter, and I have categorized the four main criteria:

  • Responsibilities and Accountability:

Some people want more, some people want less, at the end of the day what matters is, does your job have what you are looking for?

  • Authority:

It is in most human nature, they want to have authorities, whether it is over people, actions or anything for that matter.

  • Training and Development:

This is usually a need for the younger generation, because -usually- when someone nears retirement they are less likely to be open for new learning experiences.

  • $alary (Compensation & Benefits):

I was a bit hesitant to include this, but let us face the truth, a title doesn’t really matter, as long as it is accompanied by a big fat salary.

It depends on organization nature, size, brand, reputation and career path. My professional experience, I saw that Local NGOs Head of Programme Manager joined as  Program Manager because higher salary and organizational brand image. Finally it varies on employees satisfaction.
