Why do majority of us don't use a rubber dam routinely?

I think most dentist have this perception that applying the rubber dam is not easy and it is time consuming. Although, I think with litte training this can be learned to apply very quickly and once it is on, it helps to do the procedure very efficiently in an isolated environment. So overall, it saves time if one can learn how to use it!
