Who is your favourite character in literature?

I can't name them all, but one of my favorites is Antoinette from Jean Rhys' "Wide Sargasso Sea" :)

Dantes in the count of Monte Cristo

It's a really tough question with all of these remarkable characters all over the wonders of literature. The following three are the most impressive ones I cound think of; but it would be too hard to pick a single name :)
