It's a fire fighting system in which all sprinklers are open, i.e. there are no heat sensing, or specifically designed as such. These systems are used for special hazards where rapid fire spread is a concern, as they provide a simultaneous application of water over the entire hazard. Normally, there is no water in the piping thanks to a "deluge valve" , which is a mechanically latched valve. The deluge valve must be opened as signaled by a fire alarm system. The type of fire alarm initiating device is selected mainly based on the hazard (e.g., smoke detectors, heat detectors, or flame detectors... The initiation device signals the fire alarm panel, which in turn signals the deluge valve to open. Activation can also be via a pull station, which signals the fire alarm panel, that in turn signals the deluge valve to open.
mainly fire fighting system is out of electrical engineer speciality (system design) but the feeders for the system should be designed by electrical engineer and it mostly consist of feeder for main elecrical pump ,jocky pump and diesel pump. controlled through mcc panel integrated with the fire fighting station or designed according to fire fighting system designer requests. this panel should be supplied with electricity from two different sources one of them is a standby diesel generator using Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) . from the side of light current systems some contacts should be placed in the control panel of the system to link it with the Main Fire Alarm Control Panel (MFACP).
