The team manager decides on the human and financial resources needed to complete the project. He meets regularly with the team to obtain feedback on how the project is progressing, to agree and set targets and monitor their achievement, to help resolve any difficulties, to monitor the budget and to ensure the team works together. He supports and represents the team to higher management.

The manager of the team has the most important role. The team does most of the work but it's the manager's responsibility to ensure the team has the available resources at their disposal. These resources may include IT equipment, training, manpower, etc. The manager is also responsible for making sure the team works together to achieve the goal. The team will rely on their manager for direction, guidance and vision.
